GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q1: Is there a residency requirement in Madeira in order to have a wedding?
A: No, Madeira doesn’t require residency.

Q2: How far in advance should we book our Madeira Dream Wedding?
A: This will depend on the popularity of your wedding date and the venue but our glam team has already created a wedding in one month. However if you have your heart set on a specific date and you would like us to book one of the finest wedding venues, the best caterer, hire the officiant, photographer, videographer, entertainment, florist, hair and makeup stylist we advise you to book at least 6 months prior to the wedding. It is better to book it sooner rather than later in order to get everything you desire.
But once again, this does not mean we can not plan your wedding in a short period of time.

Q3: What about the most important element of our Dream Wedding, the wedding dress, do we need to take it on a plane?
A: Yes, because if you are considering renting a bridal dress, unfortunately in Madeira there are no dress shops where you can rent a bridal gown. However, there are some bridal boutiques where you can purchase a wedding dress, but honestly it would be too risky if you find the gown of your dreams and at the boutique they do not have your wedding dress size. Not to mention if you have enough time to have alterations done.
We strongly recommend to bring your wedding dress as a carry-on.

Q4: How do we pack the Wedding Dress?
A: Please do not fold it or roll it into your suitcase. To prevent wrinkling the fabric make sure you pack it to fit inside an overhead compartment, laying it above other passengers’ overhead carry-on items. But to avoid surprises, before that please confirm with your airline its carry-on luggage size restrictions and weight requirements.
If it is necessary to remove creases from your bridal dress, we can get it steam pressed when you arrive in Madeira.

Q5: To create our Wedding package, do we need to choose the services from your selection or can they be exchanged for other services?
A: We present a selection of services but we can also implement some other ideas according to your wedding theme, representing your style and your budget.

Q6: If we choose Bride’s hair styling as a service, are hair accessories (tiaras, headbands, combs or flowers) included in the wedding package?
A: No, they are not. If you wish, the hairstylist can provide some hair accessories but we recommend you bring a veil (if you’re planning to wear one) or your own hair accessories in case the other ones do not elevate your look or do not match to your wedding dress.

Q7: Do we have to go to the salon or do the hair stylist and make-up artist go to our hotel?
A: They will be travelling to you.

ADVENTURE WEDDING
Q8: What is the catamaran’s passenger capacity?
A: There are three of them: one for 70 passengers, another one for 98 passengers and the biggest one with two floors for 216 passengers.

Q9: Is it just a sunset ceremony/reception?
A: You can either have an afternoon ceremony, starting at 3 o’clock, followed by a reception or a sunset ceremony/reception.

MAGICAL WEDDING
Q10: Can an outdoor wedding be cancelled due to weather conditions?
A: In case of bad weather the ceremony will be moved to a back up plan, the wedding can not be cancelled; once the packages and extras are paid, they are not refundable.

BEACH WEDDING
Q11: Do we need to rent a car during our stay?
A: If you wish, we can provide airport/hotel/aiport transfers. For the bride & groom staying in Funchal, it is probably not necessary to rent a car but for those who are staying in Calheta, renting a car might be an option as buses don’t run frequently between the capital city and Calheta.

FUN WEDDING
Q12: If we pick a “Fun Wedding“ package. Do you recommend any specific bridal shoes?
A: High heels are not compatible with the cobbled streets in Monte’s village. The last thing you want is to wobble and fall to the floor or ruin your shoes. Please wear the most comfortable wedding shoes you can find (wedding flats, sandals or sneakers). And when you’re on solid ground for the ceremony, reception and for all your photos do a shoe switch and put your heels on.You’ll feel relieved to know you’ve got those back-ups close by!

MARRIAGE PROPOSAL
Q13: What is the dress code at the 2 Michelin star restaurant?
A: The dress code is smart casual at dinner. It is not necessary to wear a suite with tie, however, sport shoes, T-shirts and blue jeans should not be worn.
